The student viewing the published .htm is forced to scroll up/down/left/right to see the entire screen and that is unacceptable. Of course this is because there is no scaling, I record in 1280x1024 so when the TOC is added this takes up more space. Must I record a smaller portion of the screen or record in a lower resolution in order to make it all fit neatly now?
Captivate 5 used to create a .swf file that, when ran in IE, fit it all on the 1280x1024 screen so it was scaling it down nicely and I could just run that and had no need for the .htm... it was VERY nice. The ENTIRE training session contained everything in one .swf and it played back beautifully scaled down to fit on the screen.
Now with Captivate 6 the .swf has .mp4 files published outside (no longer found in the LIbrary) of the .swf so there are many files to manage. Those mp4 have no audio as I import each separately recorded mp3 to its appropriate video slide. If I run the .swf the text in the video cannot be read. If I run the .htm it is too large.
I expect I'm missing some key information. I got comfortable with Captivate 5 in making my tutorials with FMV and imported mp3. It was simple and worked so well. If I had my own personal license I'd go back to 5 but I appear to be stuck in a group licensing issue and not sure if I can do that.
My Choices as I see them, considering I got no replies on my previous attempt to get this resolved and one obvious answer would have something to do with scaling before or after publishing (so maybe it doesn't exist in 6).
- Dark Ages 1: Record video at lower resolution in order to fit the TOC with it on the monitor with no scrolling required.
- Dark Ages 2 (the work-around): Publish separate mp4. Then the TOC will have to be the windows folder/file system since the published mp4 doesn't seem able to have a TOC.
