This has been something many people have requested. The best way to add effects (in my opinion) is to wait until AFTER you have the timing of screen elements worked out.
If you'd like Captivate to work differently, you should add your voice to the others that want this enhancement and use the link on this forum to get to the Enhancement Request form.
