It's sounding more and more like you may have some corruption in this project file.
Try copying all slides to a new project shell of the same exact height and width to see if that shakes out any issues. If the new project still plays too slow, then the only way to debug it further would be to see your CPTX project file. You would need to upload it somewhere and share the link so that I could take a look.
