Sorry to hear about your trouble.
Please help understand this scenario better by answering following questions:--
1) Are you getting any error while publishing?
2) Are you able to publish it fine but when you launch it, it appears as blank?
3) Did you test this on Google Chrome, if yes, Can you try IE or Safari or some flash enabled browser??
4) When you say you take the files from non working Captivate to working, are you taking files to different machine ?
5) Have you enabled the LMS configuration on this project, try to disable them from (Quiz-- Quiz Preferences) and publish again.
PS: Check the version of Captivate from Help--About Captivate
