There are many different examples of game based learning (GBL) using Captivate (Cp), most of these come in the form of Jeopardy! style games, or matching games. Out of the box Cp does not have specific functionality focused at building gamification into your eLearning, but with some time, effort, and creativity it could be done. I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to create, but my initial feeling is that you should investigate other tools to develop your games in, and then possibly embed them in a Cp project if you are wanting to scaffold the learner's knowledge before playing the game. There are some pretty good GBL builders you can find online for free, but most of them are k-12 focused. I listed some links to some tools I know of and some articles on building good GBL. Good luck!
