So, this is such a pain because it is an issue based on a nice to have easter egg sort of thing. I am creating a home screen and it is in the form of a scene that learners can explore. To help encourage exploration both here and throughout the module, I have put a few little easter eggs in. When I click on a tree a little butterfly pops out and flies to another bush for example.
So here is my issue. When you click on a bush, a flower grows beside it (I am working on the premise of unpredictable reward here). So I have my flower hidden behind a shape and when someone clicks the transparent button over top of the bush it applies the effects of ease up and zoom in on the flower image to make the flower appear to grow out of the field. It works very nicely and looks great. The only trouble is, if someone clicks the bush a second time the flower (from its new starting point) crawls up the screen and grows again (only in a higher position). Click again and it goes higher still, etc. It takes about 6 clicks to get it all the way off the screen. I have tried all kinds of combinations of attempts and last attempt settings to make it only work once and then stop. Obviously there is something about those features I do not know (I actually don't use them that much).
So any ideas? Is the last attempt action only taken on failure perhaps? I haven't seen it written but it definately seems that may be the case? So is there a way to shut the button or click box off after a success action. Other bits I have read on here make it sound like that should be how it goes anyway. Looks like some pleople have the opposite issue where they can only make it work once.
Oh, by the way I have the same issue with the butterfly, just the result is the butterfly flies off the screen the second time - which I can live with.
