We can get rid of the clear, back and next button but not the submit button. You can change the caption for the Submit Button.
In your scenario, you can make the attempts as infinite on that question and increase the failure levels. But the user will have to click on the submit button.
You can Change the text on failure caption also to make it 'Try Again'.
