I got a mail with an answer from a staff member that seemed to disagree with my opinion but I don't see that answer here in the thread.
Personally I'm not using project templates as much as I did before, because I'm using a theme. The only reason I use a template is when I need variables and advanced actions in multiple project files, not for the styles, nor the master slides, nor the skin because those are in the themes. I never liked inserting placeholders at all, but you have to know that I'm only developing for my own courses. I heard Rod telling that placeholders on master slides are good practice, but confess that I'm not using them (maybe in the future).
Thanks for the comment about the webinar. Proposed to do more webinars about advanced actions, but no positive answer. Maybe I'm a bit too much exploring in the depth, that is my nature.
