Hi all,
I've been using Demomate (www.demomate.com) for awhile now and although it somewhat meets my needs, I am evaluating Captivate. Captivate is definitely overkill for what I need but let me list a few features of how I am using Demomate that I can't seem to find in Captivate. I am using Demomate/Captivate simply to show a product demo such as a tutorial of Excel:
1)After recording my demo, I can't seem to find a way to have Captivate set it so the end user must click on the areas of the screen to progress the demo. Everytime I publish as HTML5 or a .exe, it's self-running. I want the output to mimick being on the software clicking buttons/links/etc.
2)Can I have a side window always running on the published output that has some Talking Points or Business Value? This could be a floating window or something anchored on the left that says "...now we are going to save our file in _____ format" while the callout bubble simply might say "click File".
3)Are there options for the end user at run-time to disable/enable things like a mouse, Talking Points, Step Instructions, etc?
Thanks in advance. ~Fred
