Welcome to Adobe Forums.

Please let me know:

1) Are you not able to use the main image after some slides so that you do not need to hide it?

2) Are you using any theme and the image is a part of that theme?

Please check that the new pasted image should appear on top of the old image in timeline so that it should cover up.
