How do I reset the success status of a button?

Hello,

I'm not entirely sure this is possible, but hoping that some of the power Captivate users out there may have a solution.

I'm using CP5 and need to be able to use a button more than once for an interactive scenario. Basically the learner needs to select all of the correct options then submimt for feedback.

What I've done so far:

  • Created 7 buttons (need the rollover effect of the button highlighting and a click option)
  • Each button has an advanced action that triggers a basic variable to measure success, shows an image that shows the button as 'pressed' and a seperate click box
  • The newly launched click box gives the learner the option to deselect the button so runs an advanced action that hides itself and resets the variable. I want to add another action here that resets the success of the button.

My buttons are 'Active' for the duration of the slide.

As I understand it, once a button has been registered as successful in Captivate it is no longer active for further actions, which makes complete sense.

However I would like to be able to reset the button's success status so that the learner can effectively click the button on/off to their hearts content until they are happy that the correct options have been selected before submitting their responses. Does anyone know how to do this?

Rewinding the slide isn't an option as there are 7 buttons that could be selected and I'm not keen on the whole slide resetting for the learner just because they've changed their mind.

Unfortunately this page has to work this way, so sincerely hoping I can get it done in Captivate so any ideas would be welcome thank you.

Bec
