I'm not suggesting you surrender your quest to improve the Captivate product. We all share that goal. I'm just pointing out that posting your grievance in a User Forum like this is only really like yelling at your peers. We're all just Cp users like yourself and we're the ones MOST likely to help you out one day when you have a query for which there IS a solution.
Logging the bug report (which I now know you have done) IS the appropriate response. If enough people do the same, perhaps that bug will get attention.
My point is that Adobe is not a person, it's a business...a very big and successful business. If you want to talk their language, translate your angst into something that means extra business to them.
This user forum is here because it's saving Adobe money (another sensible business decision on their part). We're essentially providing unpaid user support. After many years participating on this forum I've seen countless individuals attempt to get Adobe to change just by venting and complaining. Trust me. It doesn't work.
I no longer believe threats about moving to Storyline carry any real weight either. You can trust that somewhere in Adobe there's a bean counter looking at the number of people jumping ship and making a calculation about whether this means business as usual should change or not. So far, all that Storyline has done is prompt Adobe to add some bells and whistles to Cp that Storyline already had, to narrow the functionality gap.
Yes by all means, if it makes you feel better, "order them to fix the things up"..."especially when something just doesn't work". Just don't delude yourself that "in a consumer-driven economy" the consumers call the shots and the behemoth software giant is going to drop everything and do as you ask
